Ideal Peak-Absorption Wavelengths

Research shows that each ink pigment color absorbs a very specific wavelength.* Older, competitor tattoo removal laser devices are ineffective on many ink colors, even the most common pigments. Other 2nd generation devices were quick to add more wavelengths, but still left many common pigment colors unaddressed.
Ink absorption studies validate the architecture of PiQo4 with its four wavelengths that perfectly target nine of the most common colors used in tattoos. (White ink is not absorbent of any wavelength.)

colors

Where many devices are limited to either just one or two wavelengths or have made claims about pigment elimination using less optimal wavelengths, the PiQo4 is the only device to treat nine of the most popular colors (and all skin types) by using all four of the optimal wavelengths alongside picosecond and nanosecond pulses.

Large Spot Size

With spot sizes ranging from 2 mm -15.5 mm, the PiQo4 nearly quadruples the spot size areas of the closest competitive spot size.

Why spot size is so important...

  • Larger zones mean faster treatments and shorter sessions (up to 27x shorter)
  • Larger spot sizes penetrate deeper into skin.
  • Larger spot sizes are safer for skin.

Deeper Skin Penetration

The PiQo4 features the largest coverage area available—almost four times larger than what most competitors use. The PiQo4 is the absolute best device for speed and effectiveness.
Because of its spot size and power, the PiQo4 can penetrate deeper to reach deep embedded pigments and disperse ink particles better than any other device.

Ideal Fluence For Ideal Results

Studies show that effective treatments can be made with large spot sizes at low fluences, in order to avoid blisters and scarring.*
Most devices can only generate the appropriate fluence in a very small area, which leads to blistering and scarring. The PiQo4 is able to generate more energy over a wider area than other competitive devices.

The PiQo4 has high efficacy with greatly reduced intensity on the skin. This reduces the chance of blistering, discoloration, and scars that are seen with other devices.

Smaller spot sizes require higher fluences (less results with more blistering)

beam profile 2

Larger spot with effective fluence (higher efficacy without blisters and scarring)

Nanosecond & Picosecond

tissue

When it comes to blasting pigment particles, the most effective method starts with shorter nanosecond bursts that break up larger, deeper particles that picosecond pulses don’t treat effectively. A subsequent pass with picosecond pulses then breaks up the smaller, shallower particles far better than the nanosecond technology could on its own.

The PiQo4 is the only device built to deliver the highest power output at BOTH 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths for BOTH nano and picosecond modes.

FAQS

Tattoo Removal

Q: How many tattoo-removal treatments will it take?

The number of treatment sessions depends on the following:
  • The type of ink and how much of it was used
  • Color and depth of the ink
  • The location on the body (tattoos closer to the heart tend to clear faster than those that aren't)
Everybody has different factors, but owners have seen over 50% reduction in treatments with the PiQo4 versus other lasers.

Q: Will tattoo-removal hurt the client?

Every patient has a different experience with tattoo removal. Does it hurt? It’s going to be uncomfortable; the question is, “How much?” Since PiQo4 treatments are completed much faster, patients often get through sessions without anesthesia. Both cold air and topical numbing cream can be used on the area if needed.

Q: When will my client start to see some results?

Changes are immediate and lightening progresses with time and repeat treatments.

Skin Rejuvenation

Q: How does skin rejuvenation work?

It does NOT primarily rely on heat like the older laser and IPL technologies. Instead, it uses mechanical energy to stimulate collagen and improve elastin. It is effective on pigment and vascular conditions, such as poikiloderma.

Q: How long do skin rejuvenation treatments take and are they painful?

The treatment time is fast—typically less than 20 minutes with only slight discomfort. During the first 1-2 hours after treatment, their skin may look and feel sunburned. The client can use make-up to reduce the sunburn appearance, if desired.

Q: How many sessions will clients need?

On average, three to four skin rejuvenation treatments. Most patients see improvement after 1 treatment as shown in the photos below.
